Built different, on purpose

No camera. No recording anxiety. Just you, lighter.

Most AI eyewear on the market is built around a camera first. Sidequest is audio-first: live translation, an AI assistant and open-ear sound, with nothing pointed at the room.

  • No camera, no lens, no recording indicator needed
  • Lighter build — nothing spent on image sensors
  • Looks and wears like a normal pair of glasses

Questions, answered

Everything people ask before buying

Straight answers — no jargon. More detail on our full FAQ page.

What do Sidequest smart glasses actually do?
Open-ear speakers for music, calls and podcasts, a hands-free AI assistant, and live translation across 88+ languages — built into sunglasses or clear-lens frames. Control everything by touch or voice while your phone stays in your pocket.
Do they have a camera?
No — on purpose. Sidequest is audio-first: no camera means a lighter frame, better battery, and glasses that are welcome in gyms, offices, schools and anywhere camera glasses aren’t.
Can other people hear my music?
The directional open-ear speakers aim sound at your ears. At normal volume in a typical environment, the person next to you hears little to nothing — and your ears stay open to traffic and conversation.
Can I get prescription lenses fitted?
Yes. Our optical frames can be fitted with your script by our partner optometrists at Eye Philosophy in Williamstown and Doncaster, Melbourne — or by your local optometrist.
How long does the battery last?
Around 7 hours of continuous playback, up to 10 days on standby, and a fast charge takes about 2 hours.
Do they work with iPhone and Android?
Yes — both, over standard Bluetooth. No subscription required.
Are they safe for cycling and running?
That’s the point of open-ear audio: unlike earbuds, your ears stay open to traffic, footsteps and voices. The Pro Apex adds a sweat-resistant sport shield and secure wrap fit.
What if they don’t suit me?
You’re covered by 30-day returns and a 12-month Australian warranty — or book a free fitting in Melbourne and try them before you buy.
